Here’s my skin profile:Combination, acne prone skin. I use differin gel and Cerave moisturizer nightly. Other products I use regularly: salicylic acid pads, green tea toner, snail repair cream and various chemical and physical sunscreens. I do not wear make-up.This is a go-to. It cleanses my skin nicely without leaving it feeling stripped. It does not feel irritating around the eyes. It does not lather, which is something that I enjoy. The consistency is like that of a very thinand runny lotion. It is fragrance-free and it has no scent. I don’t find it to be particularly hydrating per se, but it does not dry me out at all. I slightly prefer this to the Cetaphil sensitive skin cleanser, which has a similar profile and consistency to this one. This leaves my skin feeling a bit more cleansed and nurtured. I use this when I want to “reset” my skin and drop down to the bare basics. In my opinion, I think this is suitable for many people who consider their skin to be oily.I took off a star because this cleanser is really good for maintenance, but it doesn’t really have any active ingredients to nurture or treat the skin. That’s fine though; this product does what it says it will do. It cleanses the skin without irritating it and it is slightly hydrating. And that’s it. It lacks a bit of pizazz but I still really enjoy this cleanser. This is a good amount for the price too.

Great light cleanser!
This does not hurt my skin barrier at all! It is great at taking makeup off and it’s super light! As someone with normal to dry skin, I will be repurchasing this cleanser. It is one of the best ones I’ve tried. There is not a strong scent, if anything, it smells a bit like soap.

Damn this stuff is really good. The skin on my face has been shedding for months from dry skin caused by other product brands, but after I got this one right here, and the face cream (sold separately) my skin is back to normal. Soft, smooth and shiny as ever. My only thing is, [and this is not a problem] that the cream is thick and will leave your face white for a few seconds while it absorb to your skin after applying it. Good stuff

Easy to use needing little water
I find using regular soap to clean my face is messing because of the need for so much water. This cleanser requires only a little splash of water on the face to be effective. No soap foam to try and rinse off. A damp cloth works fine.

I wasn’t sure if getting a face wash that was non foaming was something I’d like or not. I gave it at least a month trying it before making a review.At first I thought it felt like it left my face feeling like I hadn’t gotten everything off but I’ve come to realize it was actually that it was washing my face without over drying it. I’m so used to feeling ‘squeaky clean’ after using face soaps and thought that was what I needed but I’ve come to appreciate the light moisturize feeling it leaves after I use it.I think I may have to use a bit more of this non foaming soap vs other brands I’ve used but it’s great at removing makeup (I do not use any waterproof makeup so I dont have experience with this soap on those products). I don’t notice any kind of scent with this wash either!Overall, I feel like my face is cleaner and my acne has improved. CeraVe is a brand that my derm has says they personally like/approve and I very much enjoy this and other products of theirs.If you’ve got sensitive skin or skin you feel like is getting oily because you over wash/dry it out I’d recommend giving this wash a try!!

Purchase Incorrect Cleanser
So this has happened to me before with this brand and you might think that I should know better after using CeraVe for over a year, but clearly I am a slow learner. This does not leave my face feeling clean and does not do a good job of removing my makeup. I have dry skin but find that the CeraVe that foams leaves my face feeling clean and I don’t have to buy a second product to remove mascara. Don’t be like me and buy the wrong product. READ the label! You might ask why I didn’t return it… well because I was lazy and decided to stick with this one for the time being. CeraVe is a good product. You just have to find the one that works for you.

I purchased this product after all the great reviews. It’s an extremely gentle cleansing product for those of us with dry skin. It doesn’t foam or dry your skin up. I also didn’t feel that it made any difference to my skin. I use it in the morning/in the shower for its calmness. Soap is too harsh for me. If you’re looking for a gentle face wash, purchase this.The reason I didn’t give full five stars is because I put it on a hiatus and started using a Salicylic cleanser. That Salicylic acid cleanser cleared my forehead up and now I only use the Cerave cleanser when my skin looks too dry. I am impressed by the Cerave cleanser size. It will last you a year! Very cost effective!

This worked for my weird case of whatever under my chin
Generally in the “winter” months, I live in south Florida, I have a small patch directly under the jawline of the left side of my chin that gets red and dry… usually, it’s pretty small and doesn’t hang around too long… when it starts to get humid again it clears up. Not this year. This spot grew into this red, dry, flakey, irritated ugliness. After asking my dermatologist, who I will not be seeing anymore, she suggested using Vaseline and gave me a Rx cream that starts with a “K”…. at least the Vaseline was cheap….neither worked. I tried generic antibiotic cream, a dozen brands of lotions, six brands of soap, and crying all with no change or more dryness. The pharmacist at work saw it and gave me a sample of this to try. It seemed to work (and worked better than a rival product) so I went ahead and tried this along with the face creams for day and night. It took a few weeks, but it’s almost gone! I didn’t think of taking before/after photos…sorry…. anyway…. this stuff is GREAT! I will be using this from now on!Oh, I’d used pink dove since I was a teenager… I am 46 y/o now…. I didn’t want to believe that a cleanser like this could actually make a difference! I am now a believer in magic of CeraVe! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!

I prefer many of the Cerave skincare line.I have sensitive skin—and some facial cleanserscan be either a tad drying, or sometimes leavebehind some redness.In my early 60’s, I’ve been told I have very nice skin. Maybe because I’m not much of a sun worshipper—And don’t believe in over-washing my face (1x day) unless sweaty.I also try to use high-quality, (often Vegan) or at least products with ingredients that are gentle on my skin, such as Manuka Honey, Avocado, and Green Tea.—while scientifically/dermatologist tested as being effective for my skin type—supporting myskincare regime.In general, I have found Cerave products to deliver on their promises—promoting healthier looking skin, effective but gentle hydration—And in restoring/maintaining the skin’s natural moisture balance.Even if I should happen to get an occasional rogue redness, or irritation (not due to this product) or a blotchy skin eruption—washing my face with this cleanser clears up my facial skin’s appearance in a pampering, corrective way.Still, I find a little goes a long way.Always Very Happy w/the Cerave skincare line.Reliable and gentle results that don’t overstimulate my skin—But only allows for a restorative, hydrated balance—and visibly clear skin.Janice L

Dry sensitive skin girl here and I am happy with this cleanser! It was my first time ever trying cerave! The cream didn’t work for me but this cleanser is the best! I have 3 cleansers in my shower but I find myself reaching for this one more than any other!It is very gentle, provides me with a fresh and clean skin without drying it out! It doesn’t feel greasy but doesn’t feel like it’s extracting your natural oils either. It’s just lovely!It’s definitely not for cleansing makeup but can work as the second cleanser on the double cleansing routine. Meaning it can work as a follow up cleanser after the makeup removing cleanser.I find it to easily break sunscreen on my face so when I don’t have makeup on I only use it to cleanse in the evenings and it works great! I’ve only used it on the face and neck.It has no scent at all!

Smooth skin after washing
This face wash was so refreshing. I don’t feel like I have to rush to put on moisturizer after washing my face now. I also don’t feel all oily..or like my forehead is going to freak out, either from being dry or from “oils “. I’ve tried so many expensive face washes up to $90, but this is better than those. I’m grateful I got it.
